오늘의 영어패턴 의미

What if~? 구문은 곧 알게 될 결과가 어떻게 될지 물어볼 때 사용하는 패턴입니다. 우리말로는 '만약 ~면 어쩌지? 만약 ~면 어떨까?' 정도로 해석할 수 있습니다. 뒤에 일어날 행동이나 사건의 결과가 궁금할 때 사용할 수도 있고, 그 결과가 부정적인 것일까봐 우려를 표현할 때 사용할 수도 있습니다. 또 현실적으로 일어나기 어려운 일을 상상할 때에도 종종 사용됩니다. 공상과 관련된 생활 표현에서 자주 볼 수 있죠. if~ 뒤에는 주어 동사 형태의 절로 예문을 만들 수 있습니다.
